Over the past 3 weeks, I’ve bought the boxsets of s3-6 of Supernatural…because I downloaded s1, really enjoyed it, but never got around to dl-ing the rest….illegal downloads have encouraged me to buy half the dvds in my collection, and introduced me to shows I never would have found otherwise.
Half my music collection came that way. Somebody posted, say, one song to a playlist for a theme, and I went all ‘Ooooh shiny’ and bought the album. Or several. Most extreme examples: my extensive ‘Abney Park’ and Emilie Autumn collections, each because of one single YouTube video linked in a Milliways Backroom post to make a point.
