HAES is all around you…
After all that Christmas, and the two ducks (instead of one goose, as is traditional in Germany — my family prefers duck) and all the cookies and giggling around with the kids, I went for a long walk with my Nordic Walking sticks (and my mum) yesterday — here is me with my sportsy sticks, at the very far end.
Before that, I gave my mum the HAES talk. It went surprisingly well. She’s the keeper of the records in our family, and she remembered about a fat great-grand-aunt of mine, of which she’ll find me pictures before I go home. So, she easily understood how being fat is part of your genes (as we can clearly say who in our family has those genes for deathfattie-ness, starting with that aunt), and the rest just followed.
Up next: swimming, and shopping at the Ulla Popken factory outlet!
